Services (The Place for Teens)
Staff members at the Youth Services desk are always ready and willing to help you locate an item to get started on an assignment or to find out more about a topic. For big research projects, teens may find more assistance upstairs in the Adult Reference.
Librarians want to help you find a good book to read. Booklists for different ages and subject matter are also available to help guide you to the book of your choice.
Computers for children under the age of thirteen are available in the Youth Services department. Children use their own library card to log on. A variety of educational games are preloaded into these computers, as well as access to word processing and the internet. Although adults and teens may use these computers, they should be aware that the Youth Services computers are filtered specifically for children, so some websites may not be available. The Youth Services computers can be used for up to one hour a day.
Teens who are thirteen and older may access the computers in the Computer Lab on the second floor. Teens use their own library card to sign in to the computer for up to 90 minutes a day. Headphones are sold at the Circulation Desk or teens may bring theirs from home. A printer is available for use on both floors. Black and white printouts are $.15 each and color printouts are $.50 each.
